內容簡介

The first of its kind to address the political, cultural and pedagogical issues of English in the age of globalization, this book not only presents valuable information about the English language in Hong Kong and China, it also treats theoretical concepts related to language and globalization and opens new perspectives on these issues. The fifteen papers that make up this collection represent pioneering work in examining how language functions as a mediating agent in global cultural formation, and vice versa, particularly in the new order of media and information that connects Hong Kong and China to the rest of the world.
