這本中英對照詩集大多創作於2016年愛荷華訪問期間。身困玉米田間，心中因中年後的諸多打擊而焦慮，靈則亟欲離開這個冷酷人間，愛荷華的某個異國作家初次相見，訝異我的笑像哭，我無言以對，詩說明一切。我的心態是：想到什麼就寫下來，因為不知道此身明天還在不在了，希望能寫出某種極致，但說不定那樣的身心狀態，本身就是某種極致。兩年過去，恍若隔世，惟有詩留下，如果人間可以是大病一場，這本集子就是詳實的病歷。
作者簡介
陳克華
1961年生於台灣花蓮市。祖籍山東汶上。畢業於台北醫學大學醫學系，美國哈佛醫學院博士後研究。現任台北市榮民總醫院眼科部眼角膜科主治醫師。
曾任《現代詩》主編，文學藝術創作範圍包括新詩、歌詞、專欄、散文、視覺及舞台。現代詩作品及歌詞曾獲多項全國性文學（新詩）大獎，出版近四十本文學創作，包括詩集《騎鯨少年》、《美麗深邃的亞細亞》等，與散文集《愛人》、《無醫村手記》等。作品並被翻譯為德、英、日文等多國語言，並出版日文詩集《無明之淚》，德文詩集《此刻沒有嬰兒誕生》。有聲出版「凝視」（2006年）及「日出」（2017年）。近年創作範圍擴及繪畫、數位輸出、攝影、書法及多媒體。作品挑戰禁忌且風格多元。
